Recently voted in as a new Trustee at Nottingham Hackspace, I’m feeling super excited! In an attempt to channel this positivity, I thought it might be nice to create some new promotional materials to replace the depleted stock at the space, ready for the autumn influx of members and also Green Fest, where we hold a Nottinghack stall. I wanted to capture the creative energy of our Hackspace, in all it’s varying guises. Diverse and complex, intricate yet bold, working together in harmony to a common aim. My hope is that other members might see this as a starting point for other materials, it’s my gift to the space to use as needed. I’ve tried to make versatile blocks of pattern and shape that can be reconfigured and rejigged to fit different requirements and tastes. I think it turned out pretty good, but with 650 odd members, it’s always an idea to try and make designs flexible. I had some real fun with this project, using bold shapes and colour is often my favourite way to work with graphics.
